WHY SEE A PSYCHOLOGIST?
How can we help?
Being a human can be challenging, beautiful and torturous, sometimes all at the same time. We have to navigate the demands of everyday life and though each of the challenges of our life span, at times the human condition can feel lonely and overwhelming, when we are going through painful or difficult times in life we can feel alone and lost.
Participating in treatment/therapy enables you to thrive and be empowered in your life. We do this though our understanding of the human condition and the mental and biological functions that drive our behaviour. Engaging in treatment can be very empowering, for some it can be an experience of feeling seen and understood for the first time. A therapeutic relationship enables human connection and a sense of belonging as humans this is extremely important.
Finding the psychologist who fits with you best is important as the therapeutic relationship is crucial to navigating through psychological conditions, life difficulties, trauma, grief, and loss. Here at the Health Collective / North Coast Clinical Psychology we are committed to providing best practise therapeutic techniques. The first step is to make sure the clinician you have been referred to is a good fit to develop a therapeutic rapport. As part of this best practise at our clinic we provide intake when you phone to make an appointment so you can familiarise yourself with the psychologist and make appointments.
