Our Clinical Psychologists have expertise in the assessment and management of a wide range of difficulties experienced by Adults, Adolescents and Children. The Centre is committed to providing well researched best practice therapeutic techniques and a client centred approach.
One of the main therapeutic techniques employed in the centre for the treatment of adult problems is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This is widely regarded as the “gold standard” of clinical intervention for many psychological disorders.
What is intake?
When you first call our clinic you will have an opportunity to speak with the psychologist you have been referred to see. This is called intake. During the intake phone call we will discuss your reasons for coming to treatment, your referral, and our treatment approach.
Some people can feel anxious about their first psychological appointment. Intake is a good way to get to know your psychologist and can help you feel more comfortable starting your treatment process.
Intake also helps us determine whether our service is the best suited to your needs. If necessary, we can suggest an alternative service or clinician for you. Finding the best fit for you is an important step in your therapy.
What do I do next if want to make an appointment?
If you have spoken to your doctor already and been referred
Call the clinic and ask the receptionist for the clinician you have been referred to. The clinician will to intake with you over the phone.
If you haven’t been referred to a clinician and want to make an enquiry
Call the clinic and let the receptionist know that you are making an enquiry. The receptionist will direct your call to a clinician who can provide you with further information.
If you are on workers compensation or Motor vehicle CTP insurance
We have clinicians who are SIRA accredited (as required by Insurers) and have expertise working with clients who have had a psychological injury or a physical injury in the workplace. Being injured and navigating the workers compensation/ CTP insurance process can be overwhelming. Call the clinician you have been referred to and they will assist you with the processes involved and make appointments with you to start treatment.
DVA
We have clinicians who provide treatment under DVA.
Call the clinician you have been referred to and they will assist you with the process involved and make appointments with you to start treatment.

NDIS
We have clinicians who accept referrals through NDIS. If you have received your NDIS plan and plan approval you are ready to start accessing the support services you require. Call the clinician you have been referred to and they will assist you with the processes involved and make appointments with you to start treatment.
